Oatmeal chocolate chip biscuits (or simply protein bites) will really fill you up with energy. These biscuits are healthier, tastier and contain loads of proteins as the name suggests. But why oats as the main ingredient?

Oats are considered to be full of soluble fibers, proteins, calcium and potassium. Daily intake of oats whether in breakfast or taken as snack can help reduce blood pressure, strengthen immune response against diseases, helps in controlling weight and so many benefits are there one can think of. While chocolate chips are added to make it cookie-like.

Here is the recipe of protein bites to make your day !

1/2 cup peanut butter (works as a binder)
1/3 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup old-fashioned oats (raw)
2/3 cup toasted, sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup ground golden flax seed
6 Tbsp chocolate chips

In a mixing bowl, stir together peanut butter, honey and vanilla extract.
Add remaining ingredients and stir until evenly coated.
Transfer mixture to refrigerator or freezer and chill until set.
Remove from refrigerator and shape into 1-inch balls.
Store in refrigerator in an airtight container for further use.
